Hello everyone. My name is Patrick Lin. I am annoying, self-centered, sarcastic, and sadistic. However, if one manages to gain my trust, I may show my better side (which may get me killed one day), which may involve me lending money even though there might be little hope of seeing it again. Don't exploit this too much, though, I have limited amounts of money.

Anyway, I speak Northern Californian English fluently, Cantonese Chinese pretty fluently, Mandarin Chinese terribly, and French not much better than my Mandarin. I can program in Java, PHP, some C++ and C#, and QuickBasic, and I can script in XHTML and CSS.

My summer projects include:

• Write a good program that people will actually use (medium priority)
• Write a Robocode robot that gets into the Top 20 of the RoboRumble (lower priority)
• Learn AlgII/Trig by mid-July (this needs a higher priority, but DVDs come first (see below))
• Fix my site up with CSS and a better layout (lowest priority)
• Finish DVDs for CMTANC (highest priority, because they need to be done ASAP as the DVDs are sold to people who pay money, even though I don't get a cent)

About NPE

NPE was started from Steven offering me web hosting. I originally wrote the entire site from what little HTML I still remembered, as I had forgotten most of it, because I only had free hosts to work with and I didn't bother to put much effort into those.

Because I'm so lazy, I decided to make the site use IFrames so I only needed to update one part of the site everytime I added something new. Then I scrapped them all in favor of SSI. I'm much happier with the SSI.

To all of you IE users out there, I'm sorry, but I only test in Mozilla Firefox and Opera. Every so often I will go into IE and see what my page looks like there, and it looks pretty different. However, it still looks okay, so I won't be putting much effort into making it look the same as Firefox and Opera (which are both more standards compliant that IE anyway).
